Rihanna’s hopes of trademarking her name “Robyn” were quickly shut down by American comic book publisher, DC Comics on Tuesday.
RiRi wanted to trademark her name with intent to “provide on-line non-downloadable general feature magazines.”
DC Comics is fighting the singer’s trademark request because it is too similar to Batman’s sidekick’s name, Robin.
DC also argued that the proposed online magazine is far too identical to their existing product and believes that since both could potentially be sold to the same types of customers, people “are likely to be deceived into falsely believing” that they are somehow connected.
Don’t worry Rihanna, your time will come!
