Oprah sits down with Rev. Al Sharpton to get up close and personal with him this Sunday on Oprah’s Next Chapter.
Getting into a rather revealing discussion, Sharpton opens about his role as a civil rights activist, the moment that changed his life, and his new book, The Rejected Stone. He also touches on his dramatic weight loss while his two daughters share their perspective of how their father has shaped their life.
When discussing how he found his calling at 4 years old, Sharpton reflects on he was given the opportunity to preach to a congregation of 900 people.
“I preached from St. John’s the 14th chapter, first verse: let not your heart be troubled,” says Sharpton. “And I’ve been preaching ever since.”
