President Obama took a break from running the country to stop by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday for a few laughs.
The leader of the free world took part in the show’s popular segment, “Mean Tweets,” where he read offensive Twitter posts about himself. However, Obama didn’t seem phased.
When he recited one that said, “Somebody send Obama some lifehacks on how to be a good president. haha. Like, I bet that would help. lol,” he replied, “You know the ‘lol’ is redundant when you have the ‘haha.'”
Obama kept audiences entertained, chatting about his daily life and even aliens when the late night talk show host probed him on his knowledge of outer space. He played along saying, “That’s why you [Kimmel] won’t be elected President. The aliens won’t let that happen. They exercise strict control over us.”
It wasn’t all jokes though. POTUS took time to discuss the most recent happenings in Ferguson. Two police officers were shot during a protest on Wednesday just days after the President made a moving speech in Selma to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday.”
“There’s no excuse for criminal acts. Whoever fired those shots shouldn’t detract from the issue. They need to be arrested.”
