Walter Dean Myers is a New York Times best-selling author and now one of its books is receiving the big screen treatment.
The film, Monster, is a crime-thriller that centers on a 17-year-old student and aspiring filmmaker whose life gets flipped upside down after being charged with a felony murder, he says he did not commit.
Nevertheless, the prosecutors deem the Harlem-bred teen a “monster” and his journey as an elite student turns into a complex legal battle that threatens to send him to prison for life.
Starring Jennifer Hudson, Nas and A$AP Rocky, Monster has already began principal photography in New York.
