Chicago, a city notoriously known for its gratuitous gun and gang violence, is getting the spotlight in the new BET documentary Murder to Excellence: Life & Hip Hop in Chicago. The city’s bloodshed is examined from a hip-hop perspective, with rappers, community leaders and Chicago youths chiming in.
