Coming soon to a theater near you could be the newest Spike Lee joint! The self-proclaimed indie filmmaker reached his $1.25 million Kickstarter goal four days before the Aug. 21 deadline.
Last month, Lee announced the project to fund his next movie about human beings who are addicted to blood…but are not vampires. He describes the movie as “funny, sexy and bloody.”
The love story is not, however, a remake of “Blacula.” According to Lee’s Kickstarter page, British actress Zarah Abrahams of “Waterloo Road” will play the female lead in his new movie. Lee received some criticism about the project from a Bloomberg reporter and fired back with this response.
In a new video, the director thanks Jesus and his fans for their support.
