Comedy Central’s Larry Wilmore will host the next White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
The comedian, who stars in The Night Show, will be bringing the funny for the annual event, and he’s overjoyed.
He tweeted, “I’m beyond excited for this!”
The WHCA organizers are too. The committee’s president Carol Lee said, “Larry’s edgy, even provocative, brand of humor means he’s certainly up to the task of skewering politicians of all ideological stripes, and we don’t expect the nation’s news media to escape unscathed, either.”
She continued, “We are thrilled that Larry has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner, which will be the last during the Obama White House.”
The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2016.
