Larenz Tate is Urbanworld Ambassador

“House of Lies” and “Gun Hill” star Larenz Tate, is the new ambassador for the 17th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival, BET Networks announced Friday.

Tate will attend the screening for his latest film on September 20 at 8:00pm.

“I’m honored to not only have my new BET project, ‘Gun Hill,’ premiering here, but to also be festival ambassador of this year’s Urbanworld Film Festival,” said Tate in an announcement to the press. “This festival is a celebration of multicultural art and its diverse and innovative contributors. I look forward to working with the Urbanworld team and enjoying some great films.”

George Tillman’s film, “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete” will play on the last night, September 21. Alicia Keys is one of the executive producers.

Urbanworld takes place September 18-22 at midtown Manhattan’s AMC 34th Street.

The Urbanworld® Film Festival is a five-day event which includes narrative features, documentaries, short films and live staged screenplay readings. It is the largest internationally competitive festival of its kind, according to the organization.

HBO is the sponsor and will host the 4th Annual Urbanworld Digital September 18 at the HBO Theater (1100 6th Ave @ 42nd St, 15th floor) from 4pm – 9pm.
