The Merc with the Mouth will be back before you know it!
In last year’s Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds stunned everyone when he transformed into Wade Wilson, a former special forces optative whose world flips upside down when he learns he has terminal cancer. In an effort to save himself, he hooks up with the evil scientist Ajax to find a cure. Instead, he becomes the mutant Deadpool. The film stormed the box office sweeping up a massive $783.1 million dollars, making it the highest grossing R-rated film of all time. Two years after the original, we’re ready for more of the fast-talking mercenary with a potty mouth and twisted sense of humor.
Though we knew a sequel was coming because of the scenes after the credits during the first film, FOX has finally announced when it will hit theaters. Deadpool 2 is coming June 1, 2018!
Ryan Reynolds will be reprising his role as the titular character, and Josh Brolin will be joining the franchise as Cable, the cybernetically-armed and eyed mutant super soldier from the future. Though Brolin is fantastic, this casting does seem a bit odd considering the fact hat he already stars as the volatile Thanos in Marvel’s Avengers films. He will have a significant role in Avengers: Infinity War which hits theaters May 4, 2018. It seems like a bit of Brolin overkill if you ask us, but what do we know?
Deadpool 2 wasn’t the only surprise FOX has for fans. Two other films, New Mutants which is dropping April 13, 2018, and the follow-up Dark Phoenix starring Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner will hit theaters November 2, 2018.
Are you excited for more Deadpool or did you tink the first flick was overrated?
