Kid Cudi, real name Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, has given up his long standing custody battle with his daughter’s mother. The rapper, currently preparing his third studio album Indicud, forfeited his rights to custody, TMZ reports.
The mother claims Cudi was an absentee father and only provided “sporadic and inconsistent amounts” of support. In defense, Cudi claimed that he recently purchased a new home in Chicago to be closer to his daughter and her mother.
In court documents, the mother also says Cudi has a “long history of consistent drug and alcohol abuse.” Despite their problems with each other, the two have come to an agreement, which will allow Cudi visitation and require him to provide child support.
