Jay Z’s TIDAL Hires New CEO

Tidal has been without a CEO since April, but the company has finally hired a new executive – it’s third since its inception eight months ago.

His name is Jeff Toig, and he previously ran operations over at SoundCloud as the Chief Business Officer.

Jay Z’s streaming service has had a rocky first year. Axing two chief executive officers and an additional 25 employees within 90 days, it has managed to rally 1 million subscribers.

To put that into perspective, Spotify has 22 million, and Apple Music, which launched in June, has 6.5 million.

Despite the shaky start, the business has produced some exciting and exclusive content, including Prince’s latest album and a massive charity concert.

With new leadership in place, the corporation will hopefully stay afloat and hush the haters.
