Alfred Enoch will no longer be giving us gorgeous eyes and epic beard on ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder, but he’ll still be heating up our TV screens.
Everyone was aghast when Enoch’s character Wes Gibson was killed off on this past season of HTGAWM. As Annalise Keating’s (Viola Davis) favorite, Wes seemed untouchable, and we just didn’t see his death coming. However, the 28-year old actor isn’t vanishing from Hollywood anytime soon. Enoch will soon be appearing on the forthcoming Netflix series, Troy: Fall Of A City.
Deadline has described the series as “psychologically rich” and “visceral,” the eight-part retelling of the fall of Troy sweeps back to the judgment of Paris, his scandalous love affair with Helen and the ill-starred prophecy surrounding his birth. When the baby Paris is born, the omens foretell that he will bring about the downfall of the city. Queen Hecuba and King Priam are forced to choose whether to abandon their newborn son to the wolves or save him, but risk the safety of their kingdom. Their choice will decide not only the fate of their child, but the very existence of Troy. Told from the perspective of the Trojan royal family at the heart of the siege, the story’s main themes are love, intrigue, betrayal and belonging.
Enoch will star as the Trojan general Aeneas. Mostly, we’re just excited to see the Harry Potter alum in sandals and armor.
David Marr who wrote the series and is executive producing it has said, “The story we’re telling has an epic and political sweep but is also deeply human and intimate. I look forward to seeing these actors take you on the journey.”
Troy: Fall Of A City is currently being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. We just want to know when it will be released because we are ready!!!
