Despite her daughter’s comments and requests, the Whitney Houston biopic directed by Angela Bassett is being filmed.
The film, scheduled to air on Lifetime in early 2015, will star former America’s Next Top Model contestant Yaya DaCosta of Harlem. As with any biopic casting, many wondered how the model and actress would pull off playing the role of such an iconic performer.
Photos have surfaced of DaCosta as she has re-created the cover of the Houston’s 1987 Whitney album.
…And boy, her portrayal of the legendary singer has stunned everyone!
“I just looked at the picture and did the pose!” said the model and actress, according to Entertainment Weekly.
