
This just in, Vogue Paris has made a “breakthrough.”
The May 2015 issue of the high-fashion magazine will feature Ethiopian-born model, designer and philanthropist Liya Kebede, the first model of color in five years to be featured on a Vogue Paris cover. Kebede fronted the publication before back in 2002.
The last model of color to be featured on the front of the magazine was model Rose Cordero, which was back in 2010.
Diversity is something high fashion magazines sometimes lack. It’s important that models of color are regularly featured on the front page of international publications.
