Of course, you already know that. But adding to her super coolness and relatable persona, the First Lady will be making her first appearance on the “Black Girls Rock” televised awards special to deliver remarks about the value of education on behalf of her “Reach Higher” initiative.
“I am so excited to welcome First Lady Michelle Obama, whose ‘Reach Higher’ initiative encourages young people to pursue and complete their education past high school to join us for the first time,” Beverly Bonds, founder and CEO of Black Girls Rock! stated in a press release.
The celebratory production, taking place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on April 5th, is in its fifth year of honoring and highlighting amazing women across the fields of community service, philanthropy, sports, and arts.
Hosting the engaging event for the fourth time is Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King. So you know the commentary, comedic moments and fashion will be on point!
