Film producer Will Packer, the mastermind behind some major box office hits, like Stomp the Yard and Think Like A Man, has just signed a two-year deal with Universal Television.
The contract marks Packer’s first overall television deal, and he already has a gang of movies lined up for next year. Favorites, like Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson and Michael Ealy, will light up the big screen in some of the four films set to debut in 2014.
“We are excited to work with Will. We have been impressed by his keen eye on the feature side with the several hit movies he’s produced. We are looking forward to bringing his enthusiasm and expertise into television,” said Bela Bajaria, executive vice-president of Universal TV.
To sweeten the deal, Packer takes the cake as the only non-writing African-American producer with a major television deal. Keep filling up those theater seats, Will!
