Atlanta radio personality and host of HGTV’s Property Virgins, Egypt Sherrod, gathered some of her famous friends and more than 150 women ages 18 to 50 to host an all-female overnight empowerment boot camp for an event called the “Sister’s Keeper Shut-In.”
Sherrod teamed up with Clark Atlanta University and the Women’s Empowerment Conference for a night of seminars, presentations, games, workout sessions, massages, makeup tips, and more to help promote discussion about the spirit of sisterhood and self-destructive issues such as jealousy and self-hatred.
“Black women are in a state of emergency where we’re trying to be too many things to too many people and forgetting whose we are,” Sherrod said in a statement. “I wanted to host this shut-in to heal, to encourage and to strengthen our young women so that they can realize their full potential.”
Special guests included reality stars Towanda Braxton, Nicci Gilbert, Mimi Faust, Syleena Johnson and more.
