Django Unchained snagged four Oscar nominations. There were no individual nods for Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington or Sam Jackson (who some people feel should have gotten a supporting nod). But the movie itself is up for Best Original Screenplay, Best Motion Picture of the Year, Achievement in cinematography, and Achievement in sound editing. Christoph Waltz, who played Dr. Schultz, landed a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
In other Academy Award news, Denzel Washington received a nomination for his role in Flight. He’s up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.
