Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is back in business with fellow music mogul, L.A. Reid. Diddy will merge his Bad Boy Entertainment brand with Epic Records, under the Sony Music Entertainment imprint.
The entertainment branch inked an exclusive partnership with Epic, which will include the release of Diddy’s two much anticipated albums, in addition to a new artist roster, marketing support and a variety of new projects.
Reid said in a press release:
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs aka Puff Daddy and I have been musical collaborators since the 1990s, when we both ran independent record labels, myself with LaFace and soon after, Puffy with Bad Boy. Over the years, we not only enjoyed incredible success together, but we also became lifelong friends. Today, of course, Puffy is truly in a league all his own, continuing to influence culture and ignite musical revolutions time and time again. He’s a true innovator and I could not be more excited to join forces once again.”
The collaboration marks one of musical prominence and high influence. Both Diddy and Reid have made tremendous contributions to hip-hop culture and continue to produce various platforms for the vets and the up-and-coming.
To further honor the partnership, Diddy will be performing two new songs during the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. In addition, he is also promoting the upcoming Revolt Music Conference, to be held in Miami Oct. 15- 18.
