Debbie Allen has been working the entertainment industry for years with no signs of slowing down.
Not only will her character, Catherine Avery, grow in story-line on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy for its 12th season, but the multi-dimensional talent will soon add executive producer/director to the show’s credits.
However, this announcement is contingent upon an official pickup by the network, which is just a formality.
Allen’s directorial work can be seen on numerous episodes of Shondaland productions including, HTGAWM, Scandal, and Grey’s. She also knocked out the season finale of FOX’s Empire and The CW’s Jane the Virgin.
Allen is currently in Atlanta directing an episode of Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, which is preparing for its Season 2 return. Her work dates back to the days of A Different World, which she executive-produced.
