I am so proud of Amber Riley! The former “Glee” star took home the mirror ball trophy on Tuesday night and I couldn’t be happier.
I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for “Dancing with the Stars” and, as a diehard Gleek, when I found out Riley would be competing, I couldn’t help but root for her.
As a Black woman, I absolutely adored her. After receiving a perfect score with partner Derek Hough, Riley said she wanted to prove that ALL women (regardless of color, shape or size) could do anything they put their minds to.
And I couldn’t agree more.
Riley’s win isn’t just a victory for curvy girls, it’s another success for Black women, too.
So, you go, girl!
