This week Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada made their first public appearance together since their highly-publicized divorce. Lozada asked a Florida judge to drop the restraining order that she placed against Johnson after the former football player headbutted her during an argument.
Lozada made the decision to divorce Johnson in September, just one month after their marriage. Johnson was subsequently released from the Miami Dolphin amid the allegations of domestic abuse.
Since then Johnson has publicly apologized to Lozada, on numerous occasions, including tweets and via public appearances. Just this month the former NFL player appeared on ESPN’s First Take and took ownership of his part in his failed marriage and admitted to having a history of domestic violence.
It seems like his work maybe paying off. At the court hearing Lozada said she no longer feels like her life or safety is still being threatened by Johnson. Sources close to the Basketball Wives star reported that she wants to start talking to Chad again.
