After news of Birdman and Young Thug being linked to a man who shot at Lil Wayne’s tour bus in April broke, the Cash Money CEO is finally speaking out.
Despite police documents tying him to the suspect, Birdman is denying any involvement in a murder-for-hire plot, TMZ reports.
According to police, Birdman received a phone call on April 26, shortly after the bus was shot up in Atlanta. They say the call was placed between two phones registered to the mogul.
The call allegedly came from a member of Weezy’s camp who was anxious to tell Birdman what happened shortly before the shooting — that Jimmy Carlton Winfrey had been kicked out a club for taunting Weezy.
Winfrey was eventually arrested and charged with the shooting. The outlet says that Birdman assured Wayne he was not involved in any way. He also vowed to help figure out who was behind the incident.
Birdman says the phones were registered to him because they’re company phones used by Lil Wayne’s people, Birdman and Winfrey.
