BET To Expand Miniseries Productions

BET has ranked high in viewership with original series such Being Mary Jane and the acclaimed three-night miniseries, The Book of Negroes.

With such a reception and a nice profile on the Emmy’s website detailing “The Book of Negroes” from conception to fruition, the network is in talks of bringing more to the screen in mini-series form.

Possibly on the horizon is a series based on the life of Nelson Mandela. Without lending much detail other than development is underway, Jordan Brookins, Senior VP of Original Programming at BET stated, “These are the kinds of stories that you can’t tell in just two hours.”

If the project is a green light, what would you be interested in learning and seeing in a Nelson Mandela mini-series? Share your thoughts in the comments!
