
Ava DuVernay will be making her way to the 17th Annual Mumbai Film Festival to head the competition’s international jury.
The contest, which is open to debut filmmakers, aims to highlight the latest cutting-edge, independent cinema. It will take place in India.
“I’m thrilled to have been invited to head the international jury for MAMI and look forward to celebrating the work of a diverse array of filmmakers with energetic, engaged audiences in the dynamic city of Mumbai,” said DuVernay.
The event’s director Anupama Chopra added, “Ava DuVernay is one of the most exciting talents working in cinema today. Ava’s presence will inspire our filmmakers and energize our festival.”
It all goes down Oct. 29 through Nov. 5.
