Some of entertainment’s top performers, artists and activists are joining together in the first annual BlackOut Music & Film Festival, to be held at the GRAMMY Museum, in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 29.
Hosted by Blackout for Human Rights, a collective of actors, artists, and activists co-founded by filmmaker Ryan Coogler, the day-long festival will include an artist showcase featuring works from the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, three panels ranging in topics from social justice to storytelling, music and media representation.
In addition to the interactive panels, the festival will be screening 3 1/2 Minutes, Ten Bullets and Dear White People along with a live music and spoken word showcase.
Celebrities involved in the BlackOut Music & Film Festival include Actress Tracee Ellis Ross, Actor Mo McRae, Director Justin Simien, Actress Amandla Stenbeg and many more.
