Call it a stage dive gone wrong. Back in 2009 an overexcited Akon leapt into a massive crowd of fans during a performance of his song “Right Now” at the Bayfest Music Festival in Alabama. Now a man who claims he was struck during the stage dive causing permanent injury is suing him for it, according to TMZ.
Matthew Graham filed a lawsuit against the singer asserting that he was working during Akon’s show when he “negligently or wantonly leapt into the overcrowded mass of concertgoers” and struck him in the process. He says he has sustained severe and permanent injury to his knee, back, head, and body and is now physically disabled.
Graham is suing Akon for medical expenses, lost wages, physical pain and mental anguish though no specified damages. He is suing Bayfest, Inc. as well.
