If you grew up in the 106 & Park era, then you know why this one hits home. Arguably two of the best, most well respected hosts in the history of the BET video countdown show, Free and AJ Calloway were as real as it gets. Through album releases and awards shows to worldly tragedies like 9/11 and untimely celebrity deaths, the duo held down the stage for five years and we, the fans, were there for ride. So it came as a shock when suddenly in 2005, they said their goodbyes. Since then, it seems like 106 & Park hasn’t been able to find quite that chemistry or audience connection like AJ and Free brought, but on the bright side, both are doing really well for themselves in their respective solo careers.
