68th ANNUAL EMMY AWARDS
Television’s oldest and largest award show is back for another year as we kick off the week for fall premieres of new and returning television series. Categories to watch for this year are Outstanding Lead in a Limited Series or Movie, Outstanding Lead in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Some of the nominees of this year’s Emmys include Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Anthony Anderson, Kerry Washington, Idris Elba, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Audra McDonald and Beyoncé’s Lemonade, which is nominated for 4 awards.

EMPIRE: Season 3
The FOX hit series Empire is back for its 3rd season as Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) fights to protect her family from a new wave of drama. Lucious (Terrence Howard) is also joining the fight as he is mostly concerned about the legacy he and Cookie have created with the company. Empire also welcomes Mariah Carey as she makes a guest appearance this season.

Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury) is not only a phenomenal baseball pitcher, but she now has the opportunity to be the first woman starting pitcher for Major League Baseball. The pressure is high and all eyes are on Ginny as she takes the mound and makes history. Will she buckle under the pressure or flourish as a force to reckoned with in this promising fictional tale, which could soon be a reality.

ROSEWOOD: Season 2
Rosewood (Morris Chestnut) and Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz) team up again to solve crimes and murders while simultaneously pushing their feelings for each other to the side. This season, the two will travel to New York to solve the murder of Villa’s husband, Eddie as they embark on more mysteries along the way.

Comedian Cedric the Entertainer releases his latest stand-up special from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The hour-long special is only available for one day — September 16 — on Netflix. Watch as Ced describes rapper Fetty Wap’s music and mishaps in the clip below.
