Solange solidified her seat at the table at this year’s BET Awards with her win of the Centric Award. Last year, Beyoncé took the trophy, but Solange couldn’t have accepted it with more grace this year. The singer/songwriter has given us the most refined looks at the most recent award show and it only continued for BET.
Solange is the queen of no makeup-makeup. Every time we see her it looks as if she is wearing nothing on her face. But Solange did have on a full face of makeup, and more surprising, she used the drugstore brand Black Opal. This is the same brand that you can pick up at any Walmart, CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade and Kmart.
We talked to her makeup artist, Dana Delaney, about how the look came together. “To start, I used Black Opal Invisible Oil Blocking Gel Primer on Solange’s T-Zone to prep her skin,” Delaney said. Delaney then used a foundation brush to apply Black Opal Even True Flawless Liquid Foundation in Rich Caramel that she buffed into the skin for a silky finish. “I brightened under Solange’s eyes and center of her face using Black Opal Even True Brightening Eye Concealer,” Delaney explained.
