Okay, this is huge.

Beauty hasn’t always found its place in conversations surrounding inclusivity. Some consumers regularly blow up the comment pages of beauty brands to request more foundation tones or nude lipsticks that will compliment their skin tones. The lack of consideration for the beauty needs of all women and men calls for a major eye roll every time– grow up, beauty.

But as Instagram hotties continue to declare their flaws shamelessly and as we feature unique Women Crush Wednesdays, our society moves toward redefining our definition of cute. The change couldn’t be any more of a hallelujah moment for makeup and skincare lovers in minority groups. We are consistently seeing more brands that tailor their lines to excluded skin tones or collections that are intentionally more inclusive from their branding to their product.

Marjani, the e-commerce beauty site founded by Kimberly Smith, is one of these outlets letting women of color know that they are valued in the subjective realm of beauty. The retailer hosts products on the site from black-owned beauty brands like Gold Label, Christal Cosmetics, and AJ Crimson. The site is curated not only to fit the fulfill the needs of women of color, but also to build a community that has the answer to your particular foundation or serum needs. In short, we’ve never bookmarked a site faster in our life.
