Bolden Created Sunscreen That Won’t Make You Look Ghost In Pictures

Keep your glow.

The age of chalky white sunscreens is slowly but surely making its way behind us. Brands such as Glossier, Elta MD and Biore UV are making it easier for all tones to protect their skin without worrying about their sunscreen streaking. However, the beauty brand Bolden is narrowing its focus to make sunscreen that is specifically formulated for darker skin tones.

The founders, Chinelo Chidozie and Ndidi Obidoa, who were born in Nigeria and are now married to brothers, were on vacation in Key West and sought out sunscreen. Every sunscreen that they bought left a white cast on their skin which inspired the women to create a sunscreen that would make the shopping process easier for women with dark skin.

The Bolden SPF 30 Brightening Moisturizer is a 3-in-1 product that wears clear on dark skin tones. It contains a stable form of vitamin C that provides brightening corrective properties for women with hyperpigmentation. It also moisturizes, making it perfect to wear by itself or underneath makeup. Along with sunscreen, the Bolden brand also offers a full skincare line including skin brightening toner, skin clarifying cleanser and Nighttime Repair Serum with 10% Glycolic Acid, which will also be released soon.

The Bolden SPF 30 Brightening Moisturizer officially launches on June 28. It will be $28 on boldenusa.com.
