America runs on Dunkin’… and now it’ll do a little more running.
Dunkin’ Donuts, one of the largest coffee and baked goods chains in the world, has announced a partnership with the NAACP.
The two have teamed up to create a Diversity Franchising Initiative in order to expand opportunities for minority entrepreneurs. The goal is to increase the number of Black-owned franchise businesses in the United States.
“Franchising can be a powerful economic tool,” said Cornell William Brooks, president and CEO of the NAACP, in a press release. “We are excited to… improve opportunities for people of color in the franchising sector.”
The Franchising Initiative will provide valuable opportunities such as networking and information to help qualified franchisee candidates overcome barriers associated with financing.
“We believe this partnership will enable Dunkin’ Brands to build a larger, more diverse pool of franchise candidates… and continue to build customer loyalty for our two brands,” said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of global franchising and business development for Dunkin’ Brands.
