Rising basketball star Jabari Parker has a lot to celebrate, and his name hasn’t even been called in the NBA draft yet.
Just hours before Thursday’s ceremony, Parker snagged a shoe deal with Jordan, according to EPSN. Details of the contract have not been disclosed.
“We could not be more excited to have Jabari Parker officially join our roster,” said Larry Miller, president of the Jordan Brand, which is owned by Nike. “Jabari’s character and commitment to excellence makes him a perfect fit with Jordan Brand and we are looking forward to building a legacy with him.”
Before college, the All-American helped his high school, Simeon Career Academy, win four straight championships, and he was named the National High School Player of the Year by McDonald’s and Gatorade. During his one year at Duke University, the forward was the highest-scoring freshman in Duke history with an average of 8.7 rebounds and his 19.1 points.
With a stellar career thus far, the Chicago native’s future is looking quite bright as he is projected to take the number one or two spot in the draft.
