Trayvon Martin’s Parents Plan to Release a Book

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, the parents of Trayvon Martin, are planning to release a book about their son’s death, the trial and more. According to The New York Times, Fulton and Martin have met with publishers to discuss a potential book which would document their experiences and also share the “full picture” of their 17-year-old son, Trayvon.

Fake Mandela Interpreter Accused in Mob Attack

Just when it seemed the scandal over the bogus sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela’s memorial had run its course, a cousin and three friends say he was part of a mob that accosted two men found with a stolen television and burned them to death by setting fire to tires placed around their necks.

Beyonce’s Secret Album Breaks Records

Beyonce’s surprise album has sold surprisingly well: Her fifth solo effort sold more than 600,000 units in its first three days, setting a record for first-week domestic digital sales. Beyonce’s self-titled album was released early Friday morning exclusively on iTunes unbeknownst to the public. Apple said Monday that the album sold 617,213 in its U.S. iTunes Store. It sold 828,773 internationally.

Nia Long to Star in “The Divide”

Following the success of The Best Man Holiday and the buzz surrounding her upcoming project, The Single Mom’s ClubWe TV has just announced Long will star in the network’s first scripted series, The Divide. In the show, which will premiere in 2014, Long plays Billie Page, the wife of district attorney Adam Page, who is played by Damon Gupton of Prime Suspectand Deadline.

Cosby Show Star Reportedly Engaged to Big Tigger

The National Enquirer is reporting that Keisha Knight-Pulliam is engaged to boyfriend and former 106 & Park host Big Tigger. And the Cosby Show star allegedly wants her TV father Bill Cosby to walk her down the aisle with her biological father, who is also her manager. The rumored couple hasn’t confirmed rumors, so we’ll wait to see if it’s the real deal.

Chrisette Michele and Leela James Join R&B Divas LA

TV One has announced that singers Chrisette Michele and Leela James will be joining the cast of R&B Divas LA next season. So far, the network has only confirmed that hanté Moore, Lil’ Mo, Michel’le and Claudette Ortiz will be returning. Does this mean Kelly Price and Dawn Robinson aren’t coming back? Stay tuned…
