As if the anticipation was even too much for him to handle, Bryson Tiller dropped his sophomore album a month early. Set to drop on June 23, True to Self came as a surprise to fans late Thursday night. And as previously assumed, Pen Griffrey stays to true to his own vibe with no features in sight.

“When you are being true to yourself, you are completely honest with what you feel, deeply value, and desire,” he shared his definition behind the title of the project. “It also means communicating your feelings wholeheartedly both with yourself and others, allowing your truth to flow through you and into the world.”
Led by “Somethin Tells Me,” which he also shared the accompanying video, the 19 track project is a follow up to his 2015 platinum debut, T R A P S O U L, which spawned the Grammy-nominated ” Exchange.” Check out the melanin-charged video above and stream the album via Apple Music here.
