Tamron Hall, a regular host of “Today” on MSNBC, will no longer appear on the network, CNN reports.
Hall’s departure comes after days of contentious contract negotiations. She had been the co-host of the 9 a.m. hour of “Today” and a daytime anchor on MSNBC.
Last week executives for the news network informed Hall and the “Today” staff that the 9 a.m. hour was being canceled. A new program led by former Fox News host Megyn Kelly was said to fill the time-slot.
Hall will not have a chance to bid her fans farewell on the network as she has already taken her last day.
“Yesterday was her last day as an anchor on both networks,” NBC said in a statement. “Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at ‘Today’ and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay. We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best.”
The news anchor released the following statement on her departure through NBC:
“The last ten years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful. I’m also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.”
At the time of the announcement, sources at the network said Hall will likely remain at NBC in other roles. But that remains to be seen.
NBC hasn’t said if Kelly’s show will take over the 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. slot for sure.
