If you haven’t heard the news that Being Mary Jane is making a comeback, you are a bit late! A new city and a new attitude? We can’t wait for the BET series to trap us to our couch every week. With season four taking place in NYC. we can only expect the drama to increase from previous seasons and we are ready!
There haven’t been too many details released about season four, but we do know is that the series is beefing up its cast and guest appearance. For one, Michael Ealy (aka Bae)! In addition Cardi B. (real name Belcalis Almanzar), of Love & Hip Hop fame has been added to the list of cameos along with New Jersey’s Senator Cory Booker.
Cardi will make an appearance as Mercedes, a reality star, whom TV Line describes as the “round-the-way beauty with a big weave, big boobs and a big booty to match her oversized, ratchet personality”. LOL! Can’t wait to see her in action. She will be a natural.
As for Senator Booker, he’ll most likely be playing himself. We’ll just have to wait and see on that one.
In other ‘BMJ’ news, Gabrielle Union took the drama off screen with a recent lawsuit against BET. The suit, filed in October, stated that the network agreed it would never produce more than 13 episodes per season. But, BET is trying to tape two, 10-episodes back to back. This change would “fraudulently” extend the term of her contract. More information on this sticky subject can be found here.
Despite what is going on off screen, we hope all the drama is cleared away before the season starts. We need some Mary Jane in our lives!
