Police say a Brooklyn man who was allegedly attacked by his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend died Tuesday, leaving the accused attacker charged in his murder.
Wade Dixon, 49, was repeatedly hit on the head in a broad daylight attack with an aluminum bat at 9 a.m. on August 7.
A surveillance photo matched the identity of assailant Hakeem Drawhorn. Police drew in on him for an arrest after learning that he and Dixon had dated the same woman.
A video surveillance also reveals 6-foot-2 Drawhorn creeping up behind Dixon and bashing him in the head and body with a bat.
The suspect then walked off and left the bat outside a delicatessen entrance. Minutes later, he re-appeared and left the scene with the bat.
According to court documents, paramedics rushed Dixon to Kings Country Hospital where he was pronounced brain dead and placed on life support, on which he remained until expiring.
Dixon was also involved with a May 2016 shooting that included his ex-girlfreind.
Drawhorn faces murder charges and is currently being held without bail.
