J. Cole Pens Foreword For Angie Martinez Book

J cole

J. Cole can add author to his resume, because he has penned the foreword for Angie Martinez’s upcoming memoir.

Titled My Voice, the book will chronicle the radio personality’s career—one that spans more than 20 years. Detailing her interviews with entertainers such as Tupac and Jay Z, she will discuss hip-hop’s impact on the music industry.

So how did the Fayetteville rapper get involved?

When soliciting quotes from some of her colleagues, Cole submitted a piece so thoughtful that the 45-year-old decided to use it as the foreword.

She told Rap Radar that he “nailed it” and that she “can’t even read it to somebody without getting choked up.”

“It’s not just about me, but people like me and our careers and what this game means to us,” she said. “He hadn’t even read the book yet and he just wrote the perfect foreword for what my conversation was… I’m just so grateful for his presence in the game.”
