The original cast of The Wiz is easing on down to New York’s Central Park for a special reunion.
According to Playbill, Phylicia Rashad, who played a munchkin, Andre De Shields, who took on the title role, and Dee Dee Bridgewater, who portrayed Glinda, are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic musical with The Wiz: A Celebration in Dance & Music.
The event will be co-hosted by Rashad and choreographer George Faison, who was the first African-American to win a Tony Award for Best Choreography for the show. It will also feature dances and songs from the very first production.
